The ten worst traits of the black race / dose the black race lack culture?

African American artAmerican black community (African Americans). Influenced by various cultural traditions, including those of Africa, Europe and the Americas, traditional African American art forms include the range of plastic arts, from basket weaving, pottery, and quilting to woodcarving and painting.Harriet Powers, Bible quilt, Mixed Media. 1898. [1] During the period between the 17th century and the early 19th century art took the form of small drums, quilts, wrought-iron figures and ceramic vessels in the southern United States; these artifacts have similarities with comparable crafts in West and Central Africa. In contrast, black artisans like the New England–based engraver Scipio Moorhead and the Baltimore portrait painter Joshua Johnson created art that was conceived in a western European fashion for their local markets.[2]  From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia African American art  From its early origins in slave communities, through the end of the 20th century,…Continue

The ten worst traits of the black race 1 Reply

The lack of cultural valuesDo the black race lack cultural values, well to understand this fully we must first define cultural values for us as black people. The only and best way I know to do this is to look at how our ancestors interacted and functioned as a race of people. We must understand some of what our African ancestors practiced and believed in, also we must understand our American ancestry to get a full understanding of our culture  What is cultural values and is it a missing trait with-in the black community? Well using a dictionary definition it is define as 1. arts collectively:art, music, literature, and related intellectual activities, considered collectively Culture is necessary for a healthy society. popular culture2. knowledge and sophistication:enlightenment and sophistication acquired through education and exposure to the arts They are people of culture.3. shared beliefs and values of group:the beliefs, customs, practices, and social behavior of a particular nation or people Southeast Asian culture4. people with shared beliefs and practices:a group of people whose shared beliefs and practices identify the particular place, class, or time to which they belong5. shared attitudes:a particular set of attitudes that characterizes a group of people The company tries hard to avoid a blame culture.Notice in definition # 1  some of the particular items that are mentioned as healthy components for a race of people to possess in order to establish cultural unity. In the area of black art and it’s history most black people know very little about  their American black artist and their history. It is not critical for every black person to have extensive  knowledge in this area but we should be able to point to some of the grate African and American black artist that have came about in history. Most cultures can name at least 2 or three of their races well know artist, I don’t think this needs validating because most black know the names of the ones I will…Continue

Making It Through Adolescence 2 Replies

Do you remember when you begun your transformations from child to young adult? Say, from twelve to thirteen or thirteen to fourteen. I know it was quite confusing in a lot of ways. It was for me also. So can we list some of the major things we remember about our maturing. And document some of the solution we used to understand what was happening to our bodies and minds. I am sure some of the younger members of nation builders would appreciate hearing some of the things others faced while maturing and the solutions that was found or used to make it through adolescence.   Continue

Christians don't all March to the Beat of Megachurch Minister Joel Osteen

March 6, 2011"Christians don't all March to the Beat of Megachurch Minister Joel Osteen"Blog written by Alberta ParishThe most common thinking the general public has concerning Christians is that we're all supposed to be the Joel Osteen types. The popular megachurch minister has been a regular TV guest on CNN programs such as Larry King Live and the Piers Morgan Show. He's always smiling, and seem happy-go-lucky. He seem like he is at total peace with himself, and that there are no problems in his and his family's lives. Well, I got news for you: Most Christians have serious problems. Many are recovering alcoholics and drug addicts, former prostitutes, and people who have general money issues, which mean a person's life is not always how he expected it to turn out, and therefore, he may not be able to pay all of his expenses the way he would like, and, in turn, this lack of financial resources create a lot of burdens. These days, a person can't hardly serve God due to the financial burdens he or she are experiencing many times over. Christians get frustrated and stressed out over money problems just like people who are non-Christians. Let's face it: people don't want to be broke all the time, working a job just to pay bills, can't ever go on expensive trips, and not enjoying the fruits of their labor. The Joel Osteens of the world is not the reality for many Christians. In addition, I do not march to the beat of anybody else's drums. I am not trying to pattern myself after Joel Osteen, or T.D. Jakes, or Juanita Bynum. I wouldn't mind making the kind of money they make, but my life will continue regardless of whether I'm a millionaire or not. People need to know that Christians are more human than what they perceive Christians to be. Sometimes, life is difficult and it is cruel. Everything going on around you and in the world is designed to keep you stressed out, to keep you in fear of the unknown and the future, and to keep you busy with everything that is…Continue
